ABOUT US

As a general manager I’ve held leadership roles in corporate real estate, operations management, business improvement, program/project management, business development, customer service, technology, strategy, consulting and change management - primarily within the Property and Information Technology sectors.

When not doing the boring stuff above I'm a passionate mountain biker having built, raced and ridden mountain bikes since 1990.

You're either a 'set and forget' rider or, like me, spend hours trying to perfect your bike (I can feel a 1mm change in seat/bar position) and am constantly tinkering to optimise performance - a true 'tinkaholic'.

A few years ago we bought our son a cheap 3D printer, it sat on a shelf for two years until he finally became obsessed with it. Unfortunately he spent way more time 'under the hood' of the printer than actually printing anything.

We then bought the Bambu X1C, the 'apple' of printers, ultra reliable and very user friendly, it just works. so I bit the bullet and learnt Fusion360.

My first attempt at designing something was the (Pew Pew) Stem Laser (pictured), used to align your handlebars by projecting a laser at your front wheel. An old idea.

I could make these for around $7 each however the laser needs (tedious) calibration by hand making it very unreliable, plus a quick facebook survey told me there was very little demand for it.

However Tinakaholic was born.

I've designed around 50 products since the stem laser, most of which made it to this site.

I hope you enjoy using my products as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Cheers Dave.
